 Easy-to-Make Watercolor Recipe

Ingredients
  •  2 tablespoons baking soda
  •  1 cup of white vinegar 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  •  1½ tablespoons water
 Instructions
  • Mix the vinegar and baking soda together in a small bowl. It will fizz.
  • Add water and cornstarch when the bubbling stops. Stir until smooth.
  • Pour the mixture into small containers (ice cube trays or bottle caps).
  • Mix the food coloring that has been added to each container.
Solid watercolor pans can be made by letting them dry overnight. Apply by using water to wet the paintbrush and rub it on the dried color, painting like regular watercolor. It is very low cost and safe for kids. Simple to make in large quantities. They could be a great activity for your class—students can even make their own paint sets.
