Hello, my name is Bory

I am a non-native English teacher teaching children around the neighborhood in Cambodia. I was a former English teacher at a private international school in my hometown. After more than ten years of teaching, due to a health issue, I decided to stop and take some time off from work.

In 2022 I started teaching again, not at any private schools but at my house, teaching children in my neighborhood. Many of my students come from families who cannot afford to send their children to private English schools with a good standard of education. Some of them do not have a full set of textbooks, and some have to drive a long way to study, but they have big dreams.

I am not a perfect English speaker, and I am still learning every day. I started teaching because it's my passion, and I believe English can open opportunities, even for children who are born with very little.

This blog is a place where I share my real experiences teaching English to non-English speakers. The challenges in the classroom with teaching two or three levels in the same classroom at the same time, due to the limitation of space, can sometimes be overwhelming. Small successes that give me hope and teaching ideas that work with limited resources.

I honestly write from my heart, not to show perfection but to show that the grace of God is with all of us and His love is for us to share with those in need.

I hope this blog can inspire other teachers who are teaching with their hearts for children to keep doing what they are doing and have faith that God called them to do this amazing ministry because children are the seeds of the community. I hope this blog can also encourage people to care more about education and support children who are often forgotten.

Thank you for being here and reading my story.
